Jumbo Personalized Stockings from PBK for $16.49

Pottery Barn Kids is having a big sale right now. A couple things are kind of exciting, I think. One is they have their jumbo sized quilted Santa stockings on sale for $9.99, original price is $39.99! You can add a monogrammed name for $6.50. Shipping is free on this item! So that's $16.49 for a $39.99 stocking!

They also have an Anywhere Chair in the lavender dot pattern for $94.99, down from $119.99. Shipping is not free on this item though. This is one of those things that it is hard to find a good deal on. The one I bought I didn't get on sale... but Penny loves it and has used it every single day since we bought it, so I don't regret it.

Check out the rest of the sale and see if there is anything that tickles your fancy.

Happy Green Bee socks

If you have been following my blog long, you know I love Happy Green Bee clothes. Well, they have some new sock sets in their clearance section now. The socks are once size, but they have fit my daughter from about 12 months to the almost 3 yrs old that she is now. She wears a size 6.5 shoe now.

The sets are 6 pairs for $12. That is an excellent deal for organic cotton socks! Heck,I pay that much for regular cotton socks at Old Navy sometimes.

Target kitchen dept. clearance

If you are in the market for a new spatula or lemon baller then you are in luck. I was at Target today and the had tons of stuff clearanced in their kitchen gadgets department. Little red stickers dotting the aisles -- one of my favorite sights to see.

I bought a metal strainer for $4, a paring knife for >$1, a dish scrub brush for $1, a slotted spoon for $4 (the whole reason I even ventured into that aisle in the first place), and a food processor for $19.98 (orig. $39.98)!

Yes, this clearance is also on things like blenders and the like. It appeared to me that things were mostly 50% off. Keep your eyes peeled!

Random: I also scored a deal on Happy Baby squeezy foods. They were .89 ea. and I had a coupon for B6G1 free that came in a baby mailer. They are good for a year, so I am going to put them in the pantry until baby boy is ready for solids...

dead (wo)man shopping

So today was a HUGE day of shopping for me because I have been sort of snowed-in for 3 days + I had lots of Qs about to expire.

Old Navy is having 40% extra off their clearance. I got a boatload of stuff there. Spent $82, saved $238. My little boy is now clothed until the age of 2 I think. hahaha

I went to TJ Maxx to try to find a good deal on a moses basket. They didn't have any, but they were having a huge store-wide clearance sale, so I found a few goodies. I got a Melissa and Doug puzzle for Penny for $4, a pair of Izod baby shoes for $3, and a Beatrix Potter sticker story book for $3 (saving this for Easter basket).

I hit up Toys R Us for the great deal on Babyganics wipes I read about on My Frugal Adventures today. I bought 6 of the 120 ct. packs @ clearance price of $2.98 ea. B1G1 = $8.94 (that's about .01 per wipe!). I bought 10 of the 30 ct. packs @ clearance price of .98 ea. B1G1 = $4.90 (that comes out to less than .02 per wipe). I also bought 2 packs of Take n' Toss straw cups (Penny's preferred drinking vessel these days) @ $3.49 ea B1G1 50% off + I used a rewards coupon from my email that was B1G1 50% off any meal accessories. So I ended up paying $1.61 per pack. In addition, I bought the Graco Room Full of Fun (stroller, bouncer, etc. for baby dolls) that was on sale for $19.99 (orig. $34.99) and used the $10 in rewards certificates that I had, making it $9.99. I plan on giving this to Penny after the baby is born so she can take care of her babies in some of the same ways I am. I think that will help her adjust.
I paid $30.08 for everything, and saved $41.46.

I went to Target to see if there was anything left in the 75% off toy clearance. There really wasn't. It had been totally ambushed. I did find an adorable tent for Penny that looks like a tree stump (not pictured b/c I left it in the car trunk) for $20, orig. $30. That's not the best deal ever, but I've had my eye on this for a while, so I jumped. Other than that I got a few grocery deals and a couple of clearance shirts for the boy (I know I'm nuts). The clothes cost $8.28 (sorry, dunno orig. prices right now). Here's my grocery deals:
*Juicy Juice 8 pk. of juice boxes @ $1.97 - this is the reg. price, but Targ is the cheapest place to get them, so I always do.
*2 Pace salsas @ $2.99 ea. - used .50/1 MFQ and .50/2 Targ Q = $2.49 ea. (not sure if this is that great of a price or not...)
*Newman's Own Organic sauce @ $1.89 (price cut) - I always buy Newman's at Targ b/c it is the lowest price all the time as well. I usually have a Q, but didn't this time. However I was pretty psyched that the Organic was on price cut to be the same price as non-O.
*3 Kraft shredded cheese @ 2.04 ea. - used .75/1 Targ Q and $1/2 Targ Q = $1.46 ea.
*2 Kashi bars @ $2.65 ea. - used $1/2 Targ Q = $2.15 ea.
*1 World's Best Cat Litter @ $7.49 - will submit rebate = FREE

Suitcases

If anyone is in the market for a suitcase, Target had clearance on a ton of luggage stuff that I saw tonight. Most specifically a a giant and adorable patterned (girly) suitcase that was originally $70, marked down to $34. It took a lot of willpower for me not to buy that, but I figure what is the point in getting my hopes up that we are going on a vacation anytime soon that would warrant that huge of a suitcase ;(

Old Navy clearance clothing haul!

I hit up Old Navy yesterday. They had an unadvertised sale for extra 50% off clearance prices, PLUS I had a 30% off coupon that I printed (expired yesterday). I cleaned the place out!!

I spent $108. I tallied up how much everything would have cost if I'd paid full price and it was $517!!!

I got basically a whole wardrobe for baby #2, a bunch of clothes for Penny, a few shirts for myself, and some nice sweaters and undies for DH.

Some of my favorite deals were maternity pants for $2.50, flip-flops for .17, and Jon's sweaters for $4.37. But really everything I got was insanely cheap. Check out the pictures of my haul!!

75% off toys at Target

Target is having their annual clearance toy blow-out right now (which happens the last week in July every year!). Plus there are lots of baby + children's clothes on clearance, and a great shoe clearance.

I got children's shoes for $3.74. A Paul Frank t-shirt for $1.98. And about a zillion toys for under $5 ea. I wanted to take pictures of my loot for you all, but I just hid it away in the closet as soon as Penny went to sleep and I don't want to mess with it now. Tooooo tired. But just take my word for it, it was an awesome haul!!

Most of the signs say 30% off, but if you actually look at the tags, things are 75% off. You have to really walk through each aisle of toys and keep your eyes peeled for the little red stickers. Today was the first day of the mark-downs I believe, so there was still a lot of stuff at around 7pm when I was there. By tomorrow I doubt there will be as much, but it will probably be your last chance to get many of the best deals b/c by the end of tomorrow I am betting everything will be totally picked through.

Take care of Xmas gifts now and be done with it!

Clearance at TRU/BRU

I had to buy a Birthday present for a 5 year old the other day. I had a $5 off any purchase coupon I got in the mail from Toys R Us, so I headed out to find a good deal. Turns out this week they are having a huge and awesome sale. All clearance stuff is an extra 25% off, and there are great specials on tons of other things (including Melissa and Doug art stuff, Crayola markers, dress-up clothes, on and on - b1g1 and b1g1 50%). TRU clearance is a little tricky b/c it is not all in one place. You have to walk all over the store and keep your eyes peeled for little clearance tags by things. I didn't have my camera with me or I would have taken some example pics.

Anywho, my favorite find was a set of 5 flocked horse figurines for $4.95. This is a really nice set. I would like to go back and get some more to keep in the gift closet b/c they make great gifts for many ages of children and for both sexes. I got an extra set to save for Xmas. I don't remember what the original price was on these, but I think it was at least $15.

I also saw that some of the the clearance on natural cleaning and hygiene products is still there. I happened to have a few Kiss My Face 1.50/1 product coupons with me, so I grabbed 3 kid's toothpastes. They rang up $1.29 so after coupons they were FREE! AND I got the overage from the coupons, so I actually got an extra .63 off of the toys I bought!

Kroger Organic and Natural Clearance

I stopped into Kroger today to pick up an Rx. I told Penny I would get her some bananas and strawberries if she went to the grocery store with me. As I was wondering in the produce area, I noticed a ton of markdowns in the natural dairy case. This is actually a huge part of the reason I make it a point to go to this particular Kroger location. They always seem to have markdowns on organic and natural foods. Good for me!

Today I got:

6 bags of Horizon Organic mozzarella cheese @ $1.49 (reg price $3.99!)
1 jug Uncle Matt's orange juce @ $2.89 (reg price $5.69!)
1 pack Franklin Farms mushroom veg burgers @ $1.49 (reg $3.99!)
1 box crunch pack apple slices @ $1.49

Of course this stuff is marked down b/c it is close to expiration date, but that is usually not a very good measure of when things go bad. Besides, I put the cheese and the burgers in the freezer and the OJ and apples will be consumed within this week.

Cheap Cloth Diaper Inserts

If anyone is in the market for some inserts for pocket diapers, I found a great deal at Diaper Piper. They have xsmall and small size Happy Heinys microfiber inserts for $1.99 each These are usually $3 each, and this website has them the cheapest I have ever found. These are my favorite inserts (for day wear) b/c they have great absorbency. I actually put them into my BumGenius diapers as well. And smalls work just fine for my 23+ lb. toddler. I just thought I would share this great deal in case anyone is looking for something like this. BTW, you do have to pay shipping, but it is very reasonable.

Happy Green Bee Clearance!!!

Holy mackeral, Happy Green Bee is having a HUGE clearance sale. I have mentioned HGB before because I love their clothes so much. It is all made of organic cotton in a sustainable way and in ethical working conditions. And the clothes are amazing quality. Penny has quite a few of their pieces and we constantly get compliments on them. Especially the petal dress.
Things are 80% off and sizes are running out fast, so get clicking! (not on the sizing - I think they tend to run a bit large. Penny wears a size small right now and she is 23 lbs. at 22 months old). I stocked up on clothes for when she is older b/c there were more Mediums and Larges in stock.
Shipping is free for orders over $35!!

Toys R' Us Clearance!

So I went crazy at TRU last week b/c all of their 7th Generation cleaning products and a log of the organic and natural baby bath products were on clearance! Buy it when it's cheap: that's my motto.

I did this in 2 trips, but here's the breakdown:

18 of 7th Generation cleaners (dish soap, laundry detergent, all purpose sprays, bleach, toilet cleaner, etc.) @ $1.98 ea. - used $1/1 MFQs (I bought 20 on ebay a while back) = .98 each
2 of 7th Generation large disinfectant wipes canisters @ $6.79 and $3.40 (they were B1G1 50% off - used $1/1 MFQs = $8.19
1 of 7th Generation travel wipes @ $2.49 - $1/1 MFQ = $1.49

Meyer's hand soap @ $3.98
Meyer's hand lotion @ $3.98 (that's still pricey at half off, but I love the smell of this stuff, so I splurged)

3 boxes of Method dishwasher tabs @ 1.98 ea.

1 California Baby gift set @ $9.98 (the bath soap alone usually costs this much, so this is a great deal!)

9 Kiss My Face kid bath products @ 1.98 ea. - used 4 $2/1 pritables (from KMF website)
1 Kiss My Face lip balm set @ .98

4 Jason Naturals bath products @ 1.98 ea.

Organic Applesauce $1.98

Cascadian Farms jelly .98

3 boxes of Dr. Sears Popumz (5 bags in each) @ $1.98 ea.
8 individual bags of Popumz @ .68 ea.

*Got $5 off my order for spending $30 (pre-Q) on 7th Generation.
*Will submit for $5 7th Generation rebate.

OOP (before taxes) = $74.34
Saved: $171

++I estimated my savings by looking up the typical retail prices of each product on the internet b/c my receipt did not have the original prices on it.++

Free Organic Jelly

Toys R' Us (and Babies R' Us) has a ton of clearance right now. I am going to be posting my massive pile of deals from this week soon, but I wanted to mention one deal that I haven't seen on the blogosphere yet.

At my TRU store, Cascadian Farms organic jelly is on clearance for .98 (this is usually priced at $2.49). There are $1/1 coupons on coupons.com which make this free!

VS and Baby Gap

I stopped in at Victoria's Secret to use my "free panty" coupon. They must hate me b/c I am one of the people who uses this coupon only to get the free undies and then leaves w/o buying anything else. It defeats the whole purpose of their campaign, I'm sure.
I also went into Gap, next door, which was a mistake on my part b/c I can never resist their clearance rack, but at least I'm not paying full price, right?
Shorts = $6.99
Dress = $11.99
Still kind of pricey, IMHO, but Gap's clothes really are good quality. So soft and comfortable, and you can really feel that difference.
Anyways, I am selling a bunch of Penny's old clothes to make up for the money I spend on her summer clothes. She is growing up so fast!

Wags 3/29

Penny has an ear infection, so we had to go to Wags to pick up her prescription. In hindsight, I wish I would have had the Rx sent to Kroger so we could get 50 fuel reward points (earlier this month we got a bunch for Rx for my wisdom teeth operation + infection and I got gas for $2.12 a gallon a few days ago b/c of that!) But anyways, while we were waiting on the Rx we wandered around in the Easter aisle and they had a ton of stuff clearanced out already!

Giant bottle of bubbles - $3
2 Kleenex - $2.29 for both - used B1G1 Wags in-ad Q - I got the lotion tissues for Penny's poor little nose.
Egg dying kit - .66 (saving this for next year)
Chocolate bunny - .99
Peeps - .52
3 Easter tumblers - .13 ea. w/in-ad Q *only 2 shown
Easter sticker book - .50

OOP = $8.75
I dunno how much I saved exactly, but it was a bunch.

BTW, I didn't have my MFQs with me, but I noticed a bunch of Easter candy on clearance that I know there are coupons for, like Sweettarts and Reese's, so if you have those coupons, go get some cheap candy.

Sweet Deal at VS

Check out this deal that Super Coupon Girl found for Victoria Secret. Get really cheap undies with free shipping and then get a gift card back for at least $10, but up to $500.

I bought a pair of underwear for $3.99 on clearance + free shipping, and will get at least $10 GC back. That's a good deal!

3/11 Target Trip $16.82 OOP

Toddler bathing suit $8 (on sale from 9.99)
7th Generation all purpose cleaner $2.99 - used $1/1 Target Q and $1/1 MFQ = .99
Up and Up Dishwasher gel $2.49 (on sale)
2 Annie's natural mac n cheese $1.64 ea. - used $1/2 MFQ = $1.14 ea.
Ronzoni Healthy Harvest pasta $1.19 ea. - used $1/1 MFQ from Parents Mag = .19
Newman's Own marinara $1.89 (not sure if it was on sale, but that is a great price even w/o Qs. It is priced around $2.54 at Kroger, and it's the only jar sauce I like)
Market Pantry black beans can .64
Market Pantry kidney beans .64
Chocolate silk $2.69 - used $2/1 MFQ bought on ebay = .69
Cosmetic bag $6.48 (clearance from $12.98)
Easter grass .29
Bandaids $1.82 - used $1/1 Target Q and $1/1 MFQ = FREE
Crayola sidewalk chalk bunnies $1.99 - used $1/1 MFQ (not sure where I got this Q) = .99

subtotal = $26.82
used $10 GC I got for transferring a prescription
OOP = $16.82

If you want to be picky, you could also add the $2.54 I spent on my HSA card for the RX.

So I didn't get the best deals EVER, but still pretty decent. I managed to get a bathing suit I have been eyeing for Penny on sale, and got an organic cotton cosmetic bag as a treat for myself that will be very useful on some upcoming vacations.

My Frugal Partner

Jon (my DH) actually scored a fantastic deal today and I would like to brag on his behalf.
He just got a promotion and he now needs to start dressing nicer for work. He needed some new clothes in order to do this, so we went to Express, where the dress clothes fit him best. He managed to get 4 dress shirts and 2 pairs of dress pants for about $85. The pants and one shirt were on clearance, which had an additional 30% off red-line prices. The other 3 shirts were on a deal where if you buy 3, you get $20 off each. He had a $30 off a $90+ purchase coupon and he opened up an Express card in order to save 15% more.
That's like $320 worth of clothes for $85!! Nice.

Toys and Clothes for the Kiddies

The word on the street is that July is the time for toys and baby stuff to go on mass clearance in the retail world. I saw evidence of this at Target tonight. The toy aisles were filled to the brim with red clearance stickers. There are some excellent deals to be had, and if you are smart, you will take this opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping. It's always much more economical to shop for the holidays at times like these rather than wait until the last minute when you are screwed into paying whatever price the stores want to ask because you need a gift ASAP.

Kmart also has tons of toys on clearance. In fact, last time I was there, the clearance toys were all 50% off original prices. Pair that with this coupon for $5 off any toy purchase of $20 or more, and you have yourself a deal!

And as for outfitting the babes and kidlets for fall/back-to-school: if you are an Old Navy fan who likes to shop online to avoid dealing with crowds and nuisance, count yourself lucky because right now (until 7/16) you can use the coupon code "btschool" for FREE SHIPPING on any order that includes a children's item. Be brilliant and begin your online shopping adventure at Ebates to get 8% back on your purchase.
However, if you prefer to actually take the trip to the store, make sure to visit Old Navy Weekly and see if you can snag a coupon to take along!
